Travel New Zealand as a Photographer and feel what its like being a kid in a candy shop again.
The travel photography possibilities are endless, and the destinations to visit are sprinkled far and wide when you travel New Zealand. Especially if you are a photographer who takes pictures of nature.
However, it is easy to get carried away researching all the places you want to visit and photograph! Therefore, many people do not give enough thought to how they are actually going to get to all these incredible locations.
The first thing you will realise when you get to New Zealand, is that many of the most photogenic places for travel photography are inaccessible by Public Transport.
Therefore, you are going to want your own set of wheels!
SO, LET’S GET TO IT…
Here are my top three picks on ways to get around New Zealand.
Car – Snap Rentals
A no brainer for most travellers, a rental car a solid choice to get around New Zealand.
It gives you the choice to photograph far and wide, both independently and at your own pace. For a photographer who takes pictures of nature, then this is vital.

Bus – Contiki

Campervan – Spaceships Rentals
If I had to pick only one way to travel New Zealand for the rest of my life it would be by campervan.
Saving you money on accommodation, whilst providing the ultimate outdoor experience, campervans are, in my opinion, the best way to travel New Zealand.
Spaceships Campervan hire New Zealand offer a wide range of vehicles to suit all budgets.
My favourite new offering from Spaceships if their unbranded campervans that look like a car. So, if you’re worried about sticking out like a sore thumb and instead want to blend in with the locals, this is the way to go.
I have owned my own campervan during my time living in New Zealand for over 6 years and will never get bored of travelling the country in a campervan.
If you’re a photographer who takes pictures of nature, then renting a campervan will allow you to stay as close to nature as possible!
Rent a campervan on your New Zealand trip, and you will quickly see why it is the best way to travel New Zealand.
Conclusion
New Zealand has so many incredible locations to photograph! Choosing how you want to get around this beautiful country is an important decision.
