Adobe has long been the dominant player in the photography editing scene.

The Adobe creative cloud software allows you to sign up for a subscription of your choice and get access to the latest editing apps to level up your photography game.

According to Adobe, over 90% of the world’s creative professionals use Adobe Photoshop.

I have to admit, I am one of them. When paired with Adobe Lightroom, this is an unstoppable force for Photo Editing.

Adobe Creative Cloud currently offers the following:

  • All apps: You get access to all Creative Cloud programs, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, and Adobe XD.
  • Photography Plan: Photographers get access to Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop, and 20 GB of cloud storage with the Photography Plan. For a little extra per month, you may upgrade to a plan that includes 1 TB of cloud storage.
  • Individual apps: You may also subscribe to each app separately. The price of a single-app plan varies based on the program. These plans also feature 100 GB of cloud storage and Adobe Fonts access.

1. Editing Photos: Lightroom & Adobe Photoshop

If there was one tool for Photo Editing, I had to use for the rest of my life it would be Adobe Lightroom.

Lightroom is an application that aids in the editing and management of photos.

You may work on your photos with this software/application, from processing to importing to organising and categorising. It also allows you to export and share the finished project on the internet.

I find that Lightroom offers me the professional photo editing tools I need, as well as being a powerful photo management tool. That’s why it’s number 1 on my list of best photography editing software.

There are some Photographers that choose to use Adobe Photoshop for image editing, and Lightroom works hand in hand with Photoshop.

However, Lightroom is by far the simpler program to use, with its straightforward features that can quickly improve your images.

Lightroom also takes up less space on your PC, meaning you don’t need the highest spec computer or laptop to run it! Furthermore, Lightroom is also the best photo editing app allowing you to edit through your computer and through your phone on the go!

This software is great for fixing lens distortion. Head to Lens Distortion: An Essential Photography Guide to find out more.

2. Regular Updates

An advantage of having subscription-based software is that you always have access to the latest version of the app and any fixes are automatically available to you.

Over time other applications available just won’t operate on your computer anymore, and as time passes, the only way to utilise them was to buy new ones.

Meanwhile, by not have regular updates, you will miss out on bug patches, new features, and general performance increases given by their more recent equivalents.

In some situations, developers just abandon programmes, leaving little choice but to upgrade regardless.

Adobe is constantly improving features, and therefore the user experience keeps improving. By joining Creative Cloud, you’ll always be among the first to try out what’s new.

3. Cloud Storage

The Creative Cloud has the added bonus of cloud storage, so all your projects are quick to access at any time. Adobe offers plans that include Cloud Storage ranging from 20GB to 1TB.

Shooting in RAW definitely takes up space, However, I find that with a workflow that involves importing, editing and exporting, 1TB is plenty of Cloud Storage! My current Adobe Photography Plan includes 1TB, and I haven’t had any issues.

You can also easily upgrade to more Cloud storage if you start on a plan with less!

However, it is via its collaborative features that Adobe’s cloud storage truly shines. Cloud storage allows you to effortlessly share your material with others, either publicly or privately.

4. Adobe Stock

Once you’ve completed the easy setup of your Adobe Stock account, you can contribute directly to Adobe Stock from within Lightroom, complete with keywords already embedded.

Therefore, you can start to earn royalties for your photographs with very little work. This has been a game-changer for me.

It’s free, and the ease of uploading images straight from your Adobe account means less work for you than some other stock photography sites. It is worth noting the pay percentage is still competitive.

Adobe Stock is a top contender for best stock photo site!

5. Great Pricing

I sometimes hear from beginners in the Photography industry that they don’t find the pricing models offered by Adobe affordable. Unfortunately, things don’t come free in the world we live in. However, some things are well worth the investment.

You may obtain one of the most popular solutions for picture management and editing software for photographers for the price of a couple of cups of coffee each month. Not to forget the best photo editing app for mobile.

It’s flexible and sturdy, and when utilised properly, it may save you a significant amount of time when editing.

I have found Adobe Creative Cloud’s pricing to be spot on with what is on offer. Currently using the Photographers plan I would be lost without it. It has allowed me to save time and work smarter. In a world where time is money, that is priceless.
